Mississippi State University application is open!

Applying: Our application is open and rolling for Fall and Spring 2024!

Students can apply at any time either on our website or via the Common App. Once we receive a student’s application, fee/fee waiver, and transcripts, we usually can release a decision within two weeks. We are fully test-optional for admission to the University. Housing priority is based on when a student applies, so earlier is always better! Fee waivers and transcripts can be sent to our main email address. We practice rolling admissions, which means that we review and release a decision to a student as soon as possible once we have received their completed application, fee/fee waiver, and transcripts. This usually takes 2-3 weeks!

I have included some links to important information about the admissions process.

Affording: We encourage students to submit test scores (21+ACT/1060+SAT) to maximize their scholarship offer. We do have test-optional merit scholarships, though, for non-resident students with a 3.45+ GPA.

As in past years, we will be looking at a student’s weighted GPA and ACT/SAT superscore for these scholarships.

Admitted students will also be able to access the General Scholarship Application starting October 2, which they will need to complete for maximum scholarship consideration. The priority deadline for the General Scholarship Application is December 1, but we encourage students to complete the application regardless of when they apply.

I also want to mention our Non-Resident Military Tuition Waiver—if you have a student whose parent/guardian is active-duty military or a veteran (regardless of when they served), we will waive the non-resident portion of tuition for them. This is one of many ways we like to thank our military families for their service! To receive this benefit, students will need to complete the waiver form and submit supporting documentation. More information can be found at the link provided.

Visiting: We would love to invite your students to visit campus soon! We have a several ways your students can engage with us, either in-person or from afar.

Campus Visit Calendar: Individual visits are hosted Monday-Friday at 9AM and 1PM—students can see the calendar and register here. The visit will include an information session and tour with one of our amazing student Roadrunners. Tours of our residence halls and student recreation center can be added on. If a student wants to request a meeting with a representative from a specific academic college, all they need to do is respond to their registration confirmation email with the request and cc me on it. This will make sure their request gets to both our campus visit coordinator and to me in case follow up is needed.

Fall Events: Registration is open for our Fall Preview Days and Scholars Recognition Days! These are great opportunities for students to visit campus, get a feel for the Mississippi State community, and dig a little further into the possibilities that await them at Mississippi State. Fall Preview Days are open to students of all grade levels, while Scholars Recognition Days are specifically geared toward high school seniors with a 30+ ACT/1360+ SAT.

Thank you for all that you do for your students as they walk through this process. It is my honor to work alongside you, so please feel free to reach out to me if you need anything.

Hail State!
